Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

SubGuardian is designed to help people track subscriptions and recurring charges while keeping the experience calm, clear, and privacy-conscious.

Plain English summary: SubGuardian does not require an account, does not sell your personal information, and is not designed to collect banking passwords, card PINs, or direct financial login credentials.

Information you provide

SubGuardian may store information you choose to enter or import, such as subscription names, billing amounts, renewal dates, billing frequency, notes, categories, cancellation links, imported subscription data, exported files, and backup files you create.

Local-first storage

SubGuardian is currently a local-first app. Subscription data is stored locally on your device. SubGuardian does not automatically upload your subscription data or backup files to Cruz Enterprises cloud services.

If optional encrypted cloud backup or sync is introduced in a future version, this policy will be updated before that feature becomes available. The intended direction is that cloud backup/sync would be optional and clearly explained before any subscription data leaves your device.

Scan to Draft and on-device text recognition

SubGuardian may offer Scan to Draft features that use Google ML Kit text recognition to help detect subscription details from screenshots or photos you choose. Text recognition is processed on your device. SubGuardian does not upload your receipt images, screenshots, or extracted text to Google or Cruz Enterprises cloud services as part of Scan to Draft.

The Google ML Kit SDK may contact Google services for updates, compatibility information, and performance or usage metrics. This helps the text recognition technology remain reliable, but it does not give SubGuardian access to your Google account, email, bank account, or app-store subscription history.

Manual import, export, and backup files

If you create an export or encrypted backup file, you choose where to save or share that file using your device’s system save/share tools. If you choose to save or share a file to iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, another app, or another service, that is a user-directed action through your device or operating system.

How information is used

Information stored in SubGuardian is used to provide app features such as subscription tracking, renewal awareness, review reminders, import/export, local backup/restore, Premium access, app support, and service reliability.

Financial credentials

SubGuardian is not intended to collect banking passwords, card PINs, brokerage credentials, or direct financial account login details.

App stores and payments

Premium subscriptions may be processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device and where you subscribe. Those platforms process payment and subscription information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may use trusted service providers where reasonably necessary to maintain the website, respond to support requests, operate app-store listings, and keep SubGuardian working properly.

SubGuardian does not use advertising, ad personalisation, or third-party analytics in the app. If crash reporting, analytics, or cloud sync is added in a future version, this policy and the relevant App Store / Google Play disclosures will be reviewed before release.

Your choices

You can delete subscription records inside the app, delete local app data from your device, or remove any exported/backup files from wherever you chose to save them. You can contact us with privacy questions.
